GUEST - Dione McKenna

Dione is an Irish wildlife and landscape artist, living in Sevenoaks. With a degree in Natural Science, Zoology, her inspiration for painting is a lifelong love of animals and concern about environmental issues. She focuses on native wildlife capturing the spirit and individuality of the animals on our doorstep – hoping to make visible the wildlife whose world we share. She is a Member of the Association of Animal Artists.

Her landscapes explore light and shadow – bluebells glowing in spring sunshine or a meadow in evening sun. She focuses on the unsung places – wild flowers, hedgerows, heathland – highlighting the stunning beauty of our every-day, natural surroundings. She renders these through the gorgeous, colour-rich medium of oil paint, building it up in layers, using brush and palette knife for texture.

She has exhibited in various Kent galleries and is a supplier to The National Trust.
