GUEST - Kate Hasted

Kate Hasted is a textile artist based in Tunbridge Wells in Kent. Her work focuses on printed textiles with a specialism in marbling techniques. 

Kate's work investigates the balance of pattern, colour and shapes as they materialise and transform on the surface of water. Through extensive sampling and experimentation of colour, over printing and digital design she seeks to create striking and beautiful accessories for fashion and the home. 

Kate’s accessories and artworks have been exhibited in galleries and events, both in the UK and internationally, including the Hankyu British events in Osaka. She has worked with many prestigious clients such as The Guildhall Art Gallery and the National Portrait Gallery, who in 2016 commissioned her to create jewellery for their Picasso Portraits exhibition shop.

Kate is Inspired by working with the fluidity of marbling and the challenges this medium brings. Finished artworks and designs result in beautifully formed abstract organic curved patterns infused with colour and movement. 
 
Kate’s new ‘Woodland’ jewellery collection is to be launched with her guest showcase at the Artspring Gallery. The collection is inspired by local woodland walks and the colours she has been exploring using natural dye processes. The collection features three new designs ‘Oak’, ‘Cotinus’ and ‘Hawthorn’.
