Katie Whitbread

Katie loves to paint landscapes through the seasons exploring changing colours and light patterns, with the surrounding natural environment as a continuing source of inspiration. Views of trees from her studio are endlessly fascinating, as is the local landscape of Kent and Sussex where she loves to walk.

Recent work, although based on observation, has a more imaginative approach. Working from sketches Katie is combining soft, more abstract backgrounds with focused detail in the foreground.
