Julie studied at Croydon college of art, West Surrey college of art and Christchurch Canterbury University.  She has been a painter for more than fifty years also a picture conservator. 

Julie’s work is romantic in nature.  She uses a number of beloved old pots and the trees in her garden as her subjects from which she works.  Her chief interest is drawing and it is underpinned by fifty years of studying the life model.  Her intention is to make the subject of the painting or drawing like a vibration, such as when wind disturbs the surface of water.
