330 x 430 cm Framed

By Gillian Smith

This spring scene is rendered in watercolour. A young hedgehog has risen from hibernation and is foraging by the light of a spring moon. The star Antares can be seen in the top left corner of the painting.
In the Northern Hemisphere, Antares the Greek god of war, representing regeneration and new beginnings, starts to appear in the pre-dawn sky during the early spring months. At the same time hedgehogs, one of our most threatened creatures, are rising from hibernation and beginning to forage for food. Spring is truly under way and full of hope, the rest of the year lays before us.
This original painting is presented in a smart, black frame.
