Open Call

These guidelines contain all the information that you need to know regarding the submission, exhibition and sale of your work in ArtSpring’s Open Call.

Please read through it carefully before submitting your work.   Artists may submit up to 2 recent works for a non-refundable fee of £10 per item.

Entries must be submitted digitally via the ArtSpring Call Out page below.  These digital submissions are assessed by a panel of member artists, their decision is final.

We are inviting applications from 2D artists and jewellers who live within 1 hour travel distance from Tonbridge wishing to join our art collective. Members are required to live about an hour’s travel distance from Tonbridge, guest artists can apply from slightly further afield. We encourage you to come and visit the gallery before considering exhibiting with us.

Any original 2D, 3D or jewellery work to the theme of Transformation is eligible.

Reproductions/digital prints are not accepted. All work must have been made in the past 2 years, by the entrant.  The work must be for sale and Artists must be over 18 years.


HOW TO ENTER
You will be asked to provide the following:
- Artist name (exactly as you wish to be known on the label and website)
- Contact email address and phone number for the artist
- Title of the work
- Medium and Material
- Framed dimensions in centimetres or size of 3D
- Price (including 40% commission to the gallery)
- Artist statement (up to 50 words)
- An image of each artwork
- Payment of the non-refundable entry fee using the secure online PayPal payment service.

Make sure you click the "Submit” button as your entry is not complete until you complete this step. Acknowledgement of your entry and payment will be sent to you within a week or so from membership@artspringgallery.co.uk, please check your inbox and junk folder.

No changes can be made after you submit your entry so please check the information before hitting the final button!

You will be notified by email (from membership@artspringgallery.co.uk) whether your artwork has been chosen or not, by November 30th.

PREPARING YOUR WORK FOR EXHIBITION
Exhibition of the selected work will be January 10th to January 27th with delivery of work on January 6th. Delivery by courier must incude notification in writing of delivery date and time.

Poorly presented work that differs significantly from the photograph that was entered will not be accepted.

2D frames must be of a professional quality. No clip frames will be accepted. Please attach a D ring 3.5cm from the top of each side of the frame for our hanging system. Attach a luggage tag on the back of the work with your name, artwork title and price.

3D work will be inspected upon arrival. If signs of damage, the gallery has the right to refuse. Please add a sticker to the base of the artwork with your name, artwork title and price.

Jewellery: Please add a small white tag with your name, title and price.

You must provide a safe and secure way in which the work can be safely delivered. 2D work must be no larger than 75 x 75cm, 3D maximum footprint size 50 x 50 cm

Insurance. Work selected for the exhibition will ONLY be insured while at ArtSpring Gallery.

Copyright: The copyright of all works remain vested in the artist, but the rights are reserved for ArtSpring to reproduce any of the works in connection with the exhibition and it's publicity, free of charge.

Sale of work: All work entered must be available for sale. Sales and payment will be handled by ArtSpring Gallery at 40% commission. All works will be sold as seen, so your selling price should take into account the commission, framing or transport costs incurred by you. Artists will be notified of sales by email at the end of the exhibition along with any payment. If you have not been notified of a sale during the exhibition, you MUST collect your unsold work from the gallery on January 27th or 29th.  All items will be available to collect unwrapped so please bring with you packing materials.
